2021 Mercedes Metris Van

File under: never been done before. Introducing CUCUMBER, a refreshing palate cleanser in a sea of rinse-and-repeat Sprinter van conversions. Every inch of this Metris was designed for our client; a professional photographer, climber, music lover, and all-around awesome person. The brief was a van that could go everywhere as a daily driver with the option to quickly convert to a basecamp for adventures. We packed almost every feature you’d find in a van three times the size—proof that sometimes the best things absolutely come in small packages.

Our ABYC compliant electrical system features a 200Ah Lithium battery and 100 Watts of solar seamlessly monitored with a Victron Energy Cerbo GX Controller. We packed a 10 gallon fresh water tank with a Sureflo pump and 13” stainless sink into the micro galley, topped off with Paperstone countertops and a Brizo bar faucet. Our custom-designed bed platform converts an L-shaped lounge area into a 74x48 bed with quick release hardware. The Reimo pop top adds additional sleeping or lounge space for two. Cabinetry is CNC precision cut to the dimensions of the interior to allow a concealed toilet drawer, Isotherm fridge and locking equipment cabinet. A Webasto gas heater keeps the interior toasty while vented slider windows open up the panoramas, keeping the interior cool with the Sirocco fan.
